2017-04-02  SWIMMING IN AGRA

After visiting the Taj Mahal, I went sightseeing in Agra. Near the Tomb of I’timād-ud-Daulah flows the river Yamuna. There I discovered that some men went swimming, since it was very hot I envied them for the cooling. Since it was near the sight, I thought it wouldn’t be a good idea to jump in this river as a tourist  🙂

2017-04-01  SINKING SUN OVER THE MOUNTAINS

I spent more than 2 hours on the observation tower Pyramidenkogel in Carinthia. My friends and my wife had already left the deck and were back to the ground sitting in the coffee bar. But I couldn’t resist taking these last shots of the sinking sun, with good reason, I think  🙂 During that time, also many visitors have left the tower, so there was enough place to use the tripod. However since the floor on the deck was built from wood, there were minor vibrations when visitors were going, so I had to adjust my shots and waited until they were at a safe distance.

2017-03-31  SHIBUYA CROSSING IN THE NIGHT

Mostly it’s not exactly fun to go over a crosswalk; it’s different with Shibuya Crossing. The sheer size and amount of people who cross this place with every green traffic signal are impressive. It’s a stampede in the real sense of a word. For me, it is one of the top sights in Tokyo  🙂

2017-03-30  PICTURES AT AN EXHIBITION

I was astonished about the great pictures at the exhibition “WATER” of environmental/landscape photographer Edward Burtynsky. Most of them were shot with helicopters or drones; many look like painted. From the Gulf of Mexico to a dam in China, from hot springs in Iceland to agriculture in Spain, from irrigation in Texas to rice fields in China, a view of the world and environment from above.

2017-03-29  SKI SLOPE IN MAINTENANCE

Snow groomers are the maintenance vehicles for the ski slopes.  They start early in the morning to prepare the slopes for the first skiers, and in the later evening, they flatten the pistes from the days’ activities. It makes fun to ski on the traces left by the groomers. But be careful, that you don’t risk a collision with a groomer, like a friend of me did, you are the weaker part.  🙂

2017-03-28  REFLECTIONS ON CHICAGO BUILDING

During my boat tour on the Chicago River, I tried to get reflection shot. But the opportunity didn’t arise until we were on the way back to the harbor. After we have passed a bridge, I suddenly saw that glass facade with the reflections for which I waited. Since I had my camera in the hand all the time, I took the shots immediately  🙂

2017-03-27  BREAKDANCE ON THE STREETS

They have cardboards on the street, that’s all, the breakdancers need for an exciting performance. They present their show with high speed and acrobatic figures, pirouettes of all kind, back-flip, and a quick turn of the whole body while standing solely on the head. Mostly they are younger of age, with light weighted bodies.

2017-03-26  THE OLD ANITQUES SHOPS

This photo looks like it was found in in old antique shop, between parchment books and drawings. In reality, Silver Efex Pro 2 did the work, which image content would fit better, than Venice?

2017-03-25  SUN IS BREAKING THROUGH THE WILD CLOUDS

The most natural phenomenon you can see on the mountains, they influence the weather with wind and storms, precipitation and snow, and sunny weather with wild clouds. I seldom have seen such obscure clouds, looking a bit like an abstract painting. However, worth to take that shot on an alp in Salzburg  🙂

2017-03-24 STREET MUSICIAN IN A DIFFERENT LOOK IN VIENNA

New marketing gag from street musicians?  🙂  With that style, you will get more attention for sure. With the little drawback, that it gets gradually hot under the mask. From me, he got some Euros for this witty outfit.
