Hearing cowbells from a far away alp, breathing fresh air on a mountaintop and looking down to that white church … I like Switzerland 🙂 Not only Swiss products are highest quality, also the nature there, the mountain railways and the food at the mountain huts.
The nightly walking tour in Nice brought me to many buildings with magnificent illumination, as here the Palais de Justice. Although the Leica X2 may not be the best low light camera, here the Leica did a good job.
On my last day in Seattle I walked around Space needle and was completely unprepared that I would see this great exhibition, Garden of Glass. There have been sculptures of flowers, trees and grass made from colored glass, artfully designed and presented in breathtakingly way. The artist’s name is Dale Chihuly.
The nice town of Grado lies on a peninsula and is surrounded by the Adriatic sea. From some points, as here on the roof of a hotel, you can see the tails of the alps on the horizon. It’s a very relaxed atmosphere and a recommendation if you like to take some days off.
Where to stay in Seattle? I can recommend the W Hotel, very good location, friendly personnel and nice rooms. Vis-a-vis you have a Starbucks, a bus station is in front of the hotel. They have a water dispenser with lemons and oranges, and it’s for free 🙂 .. and a nice lobby with a bar 🙂
On the way back from Bratislava Castle to the tuck tuck train (I like those trains 🙂 ) I saw a big green area circumscribed with this historical buildings. Since we were a bigger group, nobody had the patience to wait for a bigger photo session, so I had to take my Sony A7S and did some handheld shots.
I take any opportunity to try high speed shooting with my Sony A6000. At this horse competition I took my Sony FE 70-200 G – lens to grab some shots of the horses. I took exposures during jumping, sprinting or gallop as here on the photo. Sony A6000 is really a low cost alternative for high speed shooting.
Really cool, renting a bike via credit card in Chicago, I can recommend this to everyone. I took some big laps in the area of Shedd Aquarium, over rail bridges and on the Michigan Avenue, suddenly I saw that fountain and stopped immediately to take some shots. Chicago is a great city 🙂
Photo sessions in autumn often lead to pictures with the different colors of the trees and leaves, like here in front of my house. Having three birch trees in the dooryard brings us aplenty leaves on our pavement. It’s like a Sisyphus-work to take a broom or our electrical garden vacuum to remove the leaves, two or three days later you have the same view again 🙂
Holi festivals get more and more common in the western world, it’s like Halloween which gets more and more fans or the Oktoberfest, which gets copied in many countries. At a visit in Bratislava, by walking through the pedestrian area suddenly I was in the middle of a Holi festival. I tried to get not touched by the colors during shooting the photos 🙂
