2021-01-09 THE LONG BEACH IN SYLT
The west side of Sylt consists mainly of a beach. The sloping cliffs with long seagrass that merge into the sandy beach. The North Sea with constant waves and the spray. The clear sky with the white clouds completes the panorama.

2021-01-08 THE VIEW FROM THE FIRST FLOOR
The photo shows the view from the first floor of the visitor area of the Elbphilharmonie and offers a broad view of Hamburg. I wanted to combine this modern building with the vintage look of the Leica M8.

2021-01-07 CAT ON THE TIN ROOF
I discovered this rooftop shed that was home to several cats while hiking. They were very active, in a quieter moment I was able to take the photo. The cat was then less peaceful then. When I reached out my hand to stroke it, it immediately opened its claws and tried to scratch me.

My stay in Hamburg mainly consisted of walking up and down the Speicherstadt and taking photos. I then rounded off my visit with a harbor tour and an accidental visit to the Elbphilharmonie.

2021-01-04 JUDENPLATZ VIENNA
Today you can see a winter photo from Judenplatz (Jewish Square) in Vienna. The Leica M240 creates an atmosphere that is particularly effective with buildings in downtown Vienna. Combined with black and white, Jewish Square appears in a new light.

2021-01-03 HORSES IN THE WINTER BREAK
I took a tour of the abandoned amusement park called Prater, which is in the heart of Vienna. There is a coffee-to-go shop there that is open in lockdown. The winter break is the order of the day in the horse enclosures. Spring will bring visitors again who will take part in guided horse rides.

2021-01-01 ESCALATOR TO THE SUBWAY
I liked the worn industrial look of the metro stations in Barcelona. It looks banal in passing, but you get a look that reminds me of movies in a photo. The so often mentioned film look in photos. I’ve been missing a cinema film genre for a long time that is one of my favorites, the film noir city thriller.

2020-12-31 ACROPOLIS WIDE ANGLE
When I was in Athens with my wife this year, restoration work was being carried out on the Acropolis. So I was a little disappointed and still wanted to make the best of the situation. Therefore I decided to take a wide-angle photo to give the sky and the surroundings more emphasis and move the scaffolding into the background.

2020-12-30 SUNSET IN VENICE
My wife Karin and I were waiting for the water bus from Lido Venice to St. Mark’s Square. I used the waiting time for photoshoots. The sinking sun that disappears behind the Adriatic was one of the motifs that found its way into my portfolio.

The Prater Hauptallee(central avenue) is a four-lane street that is only open to pedestrians and cyclists. Thousands of outdoor activists cavort every day over the length of 4 kilometers.
